McLeod Cooperative Power actively works to maintain the safety and reliability of its electric system through proactive vegetation management. McLeod cleared trees and shrubs from over 240 miles of right-of-way in its service area in 2024, including Acoma, Hutchinson, Hale, and Winsted. The efforts are intended to reduce outages, improve safety and ensure quick access when repairs are needed.
McLeod’s service and reliability
McLeod's 2025 efforts will focus on fully implementing a 15-foot clearance on both sides of the right-of-way beginning in Hassan Valley in May, moving eastward through Rich Valley, Bergen, Camden, Young America, Helen and Glencoe. You can assist by watching for notifications about scheduled work, planting trees wisely and reporting compromised trees near power lines.
