Great River Energy is more than a power company. It’s an energy cooperative that provides affordable, steady rates, reliable service, and a cleaner power supply. But what exactly is an energy cooperative?

What is a cooperative?

Often referred to as a co-op, a cooperative is a business model where members own and manage the organization. Co-ops do not prioritize profits for shareholders. Rather, they serve the needs and interests of their members. Each member of the co-op has equal say in decision-making processes regardless of how much capital they contribute to the business. This creates a sense of community and mutual support among members.

Great River Energy is proud to be a part of the national Touchstone Energy Cooperative network. For more information on cooperatives, visit our website.
