Rebeka Ndosi's plan for a BIPOC-led, nature-based retreat on the North Shore is one step closer to fruition.
On April 15, the Lake County Board of Commissioners approved Ndosi and her husband Matthew Myrold's bid for a conditional use permit, advancing the development of Maji ya Chai Land Sanctuary.
The retreat center will offer nature-immersive programming to support healing from trauma and stress with offerings such as baths, yoga, movement, herbalism and more, said Ndosi, who has been a holistic health practitioner for 20 years.
