Rainey appointed to Governor’s Workforce Development Board

25 Jun 2021

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan announced Jeffrey Rainey’s appointment to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board (GWDB) — as a business representative — and Rainey’s three-year term will run through June 30, 2024. Rainey is Dakota Electric Association’s economic development director, whose role is to attract new businesses and jobs into Dakota County and portions of Scott, Rice and Goodhue counties.

The GWDB meets quarterly and assumes the responsibility of advising the Governor, state agencies and the legislature on policies and programs that will strengthen the skills of Minnesota's greatest asset — its workforce. The GWDB provides a venue for workforce stakeholders to build on a shared vision and mission so that, “Minnesota's public, private and community resources are strategically aligned to competitively position our citizens and businesses for increased and sustained economic prosperity.”
