Governor Walz meets with executives from Upsher-Smith’s parent company

Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC (headquartered in Maple Grove) announced that executives from its parent company, Sawai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Sawai) including Sawai’s President, Mitsuo Sawai and General Manager of External Affairs, Yoshiomi Kunihiro, joined Minnesota Governor Tim Walz at the 51st Midwest U.S. Japan Association Conference.

The conference, which took place from Sept. 7 to 10 in Tokyo, brought together leaders from Japan and the Midwest, including the governors from Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin to highlight their strong economic partnerships. Governor Walz traveled to Japan with representatives from the Minnesota Trade Office (MTO) at the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). Minnesota is home to nearly 35 Japan-based companies.
