Quad Graphics sponsors job fair for displaced workers

The Waseca Chamber of Commerce and Quad Graphics are sponsoring a job fair to help find new positions for workers displaced by Quad Graphic's impending closure.
On Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. anyone seeking work can visit the job fair at the Star Fire Event Center in Waseca. So far 25 businesses are registered for tables at the job fair, said Chamber of Commerce President Kim Foels. There is room for as many as 35 businesses.
"We're putting it together because of the future displaced worker," Foels said. She added that anyone, not just Quad Graphics workers, looking for a job is welcome.
"It will be a traditional job fair, but we have the long hours so that workers from all the different shifts at Quad Graphics can be there."
Quad Graphics, formerly Brown Printing, has been one of the largest employers in Waseca for decades. Brown Printing was sold to Quad Graphics about three years ago and the staff has been downsized from 750 employees to about 400.
