Tom Lambrecht, economic development manager at Great River Energy, was recently honored for his leadership in the industry by the Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM).

Lambrecht received the Economic Developer of the Year award last month at EDAM’s annual winter conference where the organization recognizes projects and professionals in the economic development industry who have gone above and beyond or faced significant challenges in the last year.

“These awards highlight what is great about Minnesota – innovative people, organizations and projects that continue to make this an exceptional place to live, work and play,” said Matt Brown, 2019 EDAM President.

As a recipient of his award, Lambrecht is recognized as a leader who exemplifies excellence in economic development. The award denotes use of best practices, collaborative thinking, creativity and a spirit of innovation.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from the peers and colleagues in Minnesota,” Lambrecht said. “As the manager of the economic development services team at Great River Energy, we are leading many projects and accomplishing great results for our members and the communities we serve.”

One of Great River Energy’s member-owner cooperatives was also recognized during the EDAM awards ceremony as Bruce Sayler, principal of community and economic development at Connexus Energy, accepted the Partnership Award for the cooperative’s role in creating the Anoka County Economic Development Roadmap. This award recognizes a team that demonstrates true cooperation, collaboration and creativity to achieve successful economic development projects or initiatives.
