NORTH MANKATO — A new partnership will allow South Central College nursing students to seamlessly transfer to Metropolitan State University.

Leaders of the colleges announced an expanded articulation program Thursday that will make it even easier for future nurses to earn an associates degree in nursing at either of South Central College's two campuses and go on to Metropolitan State University to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing.

All colleges and universities within the Minnesota State system already have an articulation agreement guaranteeing graduates of two-year nursing programs with good academic standing the opportunity to continue their studies at a four-year university.

“The 'Metro Plan' takes this agreement one step forward,” said SCC President Annette Parker.

The partnership provides SCC students with a guided plan of required coursework and counselors to facilitate the transition.
