Kelly Osborne has been named chief executive at Twin Metals Minnesota.
Osborne returns to TMM after previously working with Duluth Metals starting in July 2012, including serving as CEO of TMM from 2014-2015. He has more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry, including underground operation.
Devoted to the outdoors and northern Minnesota adventures, Osborne’s leadership values, the company said, are consistent with TMM’s commitment to design an environmentally responsible underground mine that protects our wilderness, natural environment, and recreational and cultural resources. His industry expertise will be a valuable asset in ensuring our project meets or exceeds environmental regulations.
TMM expects to submit a formal mine plan proposal in the next 18 months. The TMM project will bring 650 direct full-time jobs and 1,300 spinoff jobs to residents of Ely, Babbitt and the greater northeast Minnesota community.
