Ritz Machine Works to open first U.S. facility in Cambridge

A tube bending and manufacturing services company based in Canada will open their first U.S. facility in Cambridge.

During the Cambridge City Council meeting Feb. 20, Economic Development Director Stan Gustafson explained staff has been working with Ritz Machine Works from Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada, that will be starting its U.S. operation in a vacant industrial building located at 315 Garfield St. S., in the southeast Industrial Park.

Following discussion, the council approved a loan agreement and promissory note for $50,000 to Ritz Machine Works. The loan will have an interest rate of 3 percent amortized over seven years.

The building at 315 Garfield St. S. has been vacant due to the closing of MAPE USA in 2016.

Ritz Machine Works is a supplier of custom fabricated and machined products to original equipment manufacturers. The company was established in 1998 by Rick llnisky and Tom Zaporzan and has grown to serve customers in Canada and the United States. Gustafson explained Ritz will create seven new jobs with the opening of their Cambridge facility with wages ranging from $16 per hour to $38 per hour.
