Remer Northland School accepts more than $39,000 from Lake Country Power

Lake Country Power recently presented a rebate check to Northland Community Schools in Remer, Minn., for $39,781, making it the largest commercial rebate the co-op has processed to-date.

“It was a nice surprise to receive this money from Lake Country Power,” said Dan Switzer, chair of the school board. “There was so much going on during the building project that we didn’t know rebates would be available from the co-op.”

The Remer Northland School installed high efficiency LED lighting, and variable frequency drives on the motors for its new building, qualifying the school for the rebate. These energy-saving products will help the school save on electricity costs, while helping Lake Country Power meet the Conservation Improvement Program goals as required by the State of Minnesota.

“When it comes to energy efficiency, this is the equivalent of a gold medal,” said Jeff Sheldon, manager, energy services and business development for Lake Country Power. “This rebate reflects the school’s wise investment in energy efficient equipment.”
