Mankato prepares to lure investors to 'Opportunity Zones'

MANKATO — The city of Mankato and Greater Mankato Growth are rolling out new marketing plans geared toward investors to develop various projects around the downtown area.
City officials and local leaders are hoping investors will take advantage of new federal tax incentives passed in 2017 as part of Congress' tax reform bill to put money toward renovations and even new developments along the Riverfront Drive corridor, as well as nearby areas northeast and southwest of downtown.
