'Wherever you are going, we are going too': Transit Alternatives’ Otter Express more than just a jingle

‘Wherever you are going, we are going too’

“Wherever you are going, we are going too,” is a fun jingle that many people in the area would recognize as the Transit Alternatives Otter Express motto. It’s simple and yet couldn’t be more true as they seek to help people to get to where they otherwise wouldn’t be able to go.

This program is all thanks to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and Productive Alternatives, which is a non-profit social services agency, working together to provide the area with public transit.

As President of Productive Alternatives, Steve Skauge explains, the program was created because years ago Otter Tail County did not have a public transportation system and was actually one of the few counties in the state of Minnesota that did not have one. It was at this time that MnDOT approached Productive Alternatives in Fergus Falls and encouraged them to begin a program to provide transportation services for people in the area.
