McGregor Baking Company 2017 Business of the Year

Mark and Stacy Bohn, owners of McGregor Baking Company and Café, were presented with the 2017 Business of the Year award at the annual McGregor Area Chamber of Commerce dinner held on Jan. 29.

The Bohns opened the McGregor Baking Co. and Café in May 2006, a result of the encouragement of Stacy’s uncle Terry Babcock and his wife, Paula, who own a bakery called “A Sweet Affair” in Walnut Creek, Calif.

Mark trained in the art of baking in the San Francisco Bay area in an effort to bring delectable baked goods to the McGregor area, while Stacy uses her creativity to produce gourmet sandwiches and salads and to decorate cakes. It is their goal to provide healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options using only the freshest ingredients.

Stacy Bohn attributes the success of the bakery to “word of mouth and their use of high-quality, fresh ingredients.” There are many aspects that go into owning and operating a successful business, according to Mark and Stacy. The Bohns also credit their employees for their hard work and thank their customers and the community for supporting them over the years.
