Bike and Walk to School Day is May 10 « Back to Search Results

Thousands of students, families, community partners and elected officials around the country, including the local school district, will celebrate the benefits of biking and walking to school during National Bike to School Day May 10.

The first National Walk to School Day was held in 1997, and the first-ever National Bike to School Day was celebrated in 2012 across the U.S. All are encouraged to join communities as they walk and bicycle to school for these events each year.

The National Center for Safe Routes to School, the coordinating agency for Walk and Bike to School Day, is committed to empowering communities to make walking and bicycling to school a safe, appealing, preferred choice for families.
